A new regional partnership focused on maternity and newborn care has been launched by the Department of Health to drive improvements across Northern Ireland.
The initiative aims to ensure that services remain safe, high-quality, sustainable and centred on the needs of those using them.
Women, parents and families will be actively involved in shaping and improving the services through their experiences and perspectives.
The Maternal and Newborn Partnership is a multidisciplinary forum bringing together key stakeholders from Health and Social Care to work collaboratively.
Its purpose is to improve outcomes and experiences for mothers, babies and families through shared learning and service development.
The launch event gathered representatives from the Department of Health, Public Health Agency, Health and Social Care Trusts, healthcare professionals and service user groups.
Agreement on future priorities was reached at the gathering to mark the establishment of the new body.
