A Russian drone strike hit a residential building in Chernechchyna, Okhtyrka Raion, Sumy Oblast, during the night of 30 September 2025. The attack resulted in the deaths of four people, all members of the same family.
The victims included a married couple and their two sons, aged four and six. Local officials confirmed the recovery of all four bodies from the wreckage of the destroyed home.
Ukraine's air force reported shooting down 46 of 65 Russian drones across the country that night. Two residential buildings were partially destroyed in Chernechchyna, according to Ukraine's state emergencies service.
