The Northern Ireland Executive released findings today indicating that the majority of people surveyed believe period products should be provided at no cost to anyone requiring them.

Just over four in five participants agreed that such items ought to be available free of charge to all who need them.

Female respondents demonstrated notably higher levels of awareness regarding the scheme compared with their male counterparts.

More than half of those questioned had heard about the initiative before taking part in the survey.

Support for using public libraries as a venue for distributing these supplies was also strong, with sixty-three per cent of respondents viewing them as an appropriate location.

Awareness and backing were lower among older participants, with statistically significant variations observed across different age brackets.

The report, titled Attitudes to the Free Period Products Scheme in Northern Ireland 2025, examines public sentiment based on data collected through the Northern Ireland Life and Times survey.
