Jim Crawford's Republic of Ireland squad have secured their place in the 2027 European Under-21 Championship after defeating England 3-1 at Turners Cross in Cork on Tuesday evening.
The victory earned them a two-legged play-off match against Finland, who qualified by finishing second in their group with 23 points from ten matches.
That Finnish campaign included a 2-1 triumph over Spain during the preliminary round.
The draw for the subsequent encounter was confirmed on Friday in Nyom, placing the Irish side opposite the Nordic nation.
Jim Crawford's team will begin their campaign by flying to Finland for the first leg scheduled for 13 November.
They are set to return home four days later to host the second leg of the tie.
The tournament itself is due to run from 16 June until 3 July across Albania and Serbia in 2027.
This marks a significant milestone for the Republic, who have never previously qualified for the Under-21 Euros.
