Russia and Ukraine conducted a prisoner exchange on 31 January 2024, with 195 Russian soldiers returned to Russia and 207 Ukrainian military personnel and civilians returned to Ukraine. The United Arab Emirates facilitated the swap, which was kept secret until completion for security reasons.
