Russia launched more than 500 attack drones and 24 missiles at Ukraine during the night of 2 to 3 September 2025. The strikes primarily targeted western and central Ukraine, focusing on civilian infrastructure including energy facilities and transportation hubs.
Poland activated ground-based air defenses and radar systems to maximum readiness following the attacks. Fighter jets from Poland and allied nations, including the Netherlands, were deployed to monitor and secure Polish airspace.
Ukrainian authorities reported that at least five people were wounded in the strikes. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the assault as massive and demonstrated Russia’s continued disregard for international pressure.
