Russia launches over 600 drones and missiles at Ukraine

Russian forces conducted a prolonged aerial assault involving more than 600 drones and dozens of cruise missiles across seven Ukrainian regions, resulting in at least four deaths and 70 injuries.

Russian forces launched a sustained aerial attack lasting over 12 hours, targeting seven regions of Ukraine with more than 600 drones and several dozen cruise missiles. The assault caused at least four fatalities and injured 70 people across multiple cities and towns.

Kyiv was a primary target, with strikes damaging the Institute of Cardiology, a large bakery, an automobile rubber factory, and several residential buildings. President Zelensky reported that a 12-year-old girl and other civilians were among the dead, and that emergency services confirmed damage to 100 civilian sites nationwide.

Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Odesa regions were also struck, with 34 people injured in Zaporizhzhia, including three children. Ukraine's Defence Minister confirmed widespread destruction, while NATO announced enhanced surveillance and deployment of an air defence frigate to the Baltic Sea in response to drone activity near allied borders.
