Pupils at Sacred Heart Grammar School in Newry have been shortlisted for a BBC Make a Difference Award within the Animal category.
The girls, who are currently A-level students, balance their academic commitments with part-time employment and personal interests.
Despite these demands, they have dedicated time each week to volunteering at the USPCA centre located in the city.
Their consistent effort has resulted in the packing of thousands of food parcels intended for pets.
Niamh McAleenan-McQuade and Clare Reilly are among those recognised for this sustained contribution.
The award highlights their ability to organise logistics and coordinate with staff at the local animal welfare facility.
Volunteers continue to assist in preparing supplies needed by animals requiring care throughout the region.
The shortlist selection process evaluates projects based on impact, organisation and community benefit.
