IDF soldiers from the Paratroopers Brigade opened fire on a car speeding toward them near a checkpoint in Hebron. The vehicle was reportedly driven by a Palestinian who allegedly accelerated toward the troops.
One of the two Palestinians killed was in the car; the other was an uninvolved passerby shot during the incident. The IDF revised its initial statement after a preliminary investigation.
A soldier was lightly injured in the exchange of fire. This followed a previous car-ramming attack in the area that also lightly wounded a soldier.
