Border Patrol agents shot two people in Portland on 8 January 2026. The incident took place in the 10200 block of Southeast Main Street.

Portland police responded to a report of a shooting at 2:18 p.m. The FBI confirmed the agents involved were from Border Patrol. The FBI later deleted and then revised its initial statement.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the agents were Border Patrol personnel. The Portland Police Bureau stated it was not involved in immigration enforcement and was only assisting at the scene.
