Trump announced via Truth Social that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire effective at 5 p.m. ET. The announcement followed direct conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

The ceasefire aims to reduce hostilities between Israel and Lebanon after six weeks of Israeli military operations. These operations targeted Iran-backed militia and Hezbollah, which is not a party to the ceasefire talks.

Trump directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Rubio to coordinate with both nations. He also announced plans to invite Aoun and Netanyahu to the White House for further discussions.
