The United States will not renew the USMCA trade agreement signed during President Donald Trump's first term. The decision was announced by U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.

The U.S. will conduct annual reviews of the agreement and pursue negotiations on amendments. The administration cited failure to reduce trade deficits with Mexico and Canada as a key reason.

Canada remains committed to the agreement, which remains in force until 2036. The Canadian minister for U.S. trade relations stated Canada is a stable and reliable partner.
