Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem resigned as chief executive and chairman of DP World with immediate effect amid controversy surrounding his correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein. The departure followed the release of documents showing he exchanged hundreds of emails with Epstein over a period of more than a decade.
The emails revealed that Sulayem discussed travel plans, political connections, and personal relationships with Epstein, including references to a 22-year-old Uzbek woman and a Russian passport holder. He also inquired about attending Trump’s presidential inauguration and sought Epstein’s advice on whether to accept the invitation.
DP World announced that Essa Kazim would serve as chairman and Yuvraj Narayan as chief executive following the resignation. No evidence of wrongdoing by Sulayem was established, and the company confirmed his exit was effective immediately.
