Ugandan authorities have approved the deployment of troops to the Gaza Strip as part of the International Stabilization Force. The force was proposed by the Board of Peace under U.S. President Donald Trump's initiative.
The motion was introduced by the defense minister and passed in parliament. Morocco has also pledged to contribute troops to the mission.
The force is expected to be led by American Maj. Jasper Jeffers and will be deployed after Israel completes its phased withdrawal. The agreement includes provisions for Hamas to disarm and for Israel to cease military operations.
