Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has announced £200,000 to support emerging athletes during the next Commonwealth Games cycle, following Team NI’s 16-medal performance at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.<br><br>The funding is to be delivered with the Mary Peters Trust and Sport NI. Mr Lyons also announced a further £2 million to reopen the crowdfunder grant scheme for local clubs and organisations.
