Glentoran FC manager Declan Devine has left the club by mutual consent following a challenging start to the current Irish Premiership campaign.
An agreement regarding his departure was finalised on Monday, coinciding with the team's third consecutive league defeat and their position eighth in the table with seven points from six fixtures.
Devine assumed permanent charge of the east Belfast outfit one month prior to this announcement, having previously led them to victory in the County Antrim Shield during the 2024-25 season.
That trophy represented a significant milestone as it marked their first honour in five years under his leadership.
His final match in charge concluded with a 1-1 draw against Bangor at the Oval on Saturday, which was greeted by vocal opposition from the home supporters.
The club has invested significantly in its playing squad yet has failed to translate that expenditure into competitive success on the pitch.
Under Devine's management, Glentoran have finished no higher than third place and lost consecutive BetMcLean Cup finals against Cliftonville and Linfield in 2025 and 2026 respectively.
The loss of midfielder Cammy Palmer earlier this summer has been noted as a notable absence, while injuries also impacted Devine's own availability at the beginning of the new season.
Paddy McCourt and Tim McCann are set to take responsibility for the Premiership fixture against Coleraine on Tuesday as the organisation begins its search for a fourth manager since January 2023.
