The Northern Ireland Executive confirmed that the six Health Service Commissioning (HSC) Trusts and the Public Health Agency have released their Winter Surge plans ahead of the busy winter period.
Health Minister Robbie Butler stated the arrangements are designed to ensure the system possesses the necessary measures to manage additional demand.
Stronger Departmental oversight is scheduled for this year through the establishment of a Surge Oversight Programme Board.
This framework will provide structure for oversight of delivery, information sharing and communication across the sector.
Minister Butler called on the public to assist in protecting vital services during the coming months.
A whole hospital approach will be prioritised to support Emergency Departments, ensuring optimal patient flow and access to care from the right clinician at the right time.
