Justice Minister Naomi Long has named Michael Boyd as the new Chairperson of the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust.

The appointments are made by the Department of Justice under its statutory duty regarding the Trust's governance framework.

Danielle McEneaney has also been appointed as a new Board Member to join the leadership team.

Mr Walsh and Mr Perry have been selected as the statutory nominees representing the Police Federation for Northern Ireland.

Both Mr Walsh and Mr Perry were first appointed in October 2022 and will serve until 23 October 2030.

Dr Aiken and Ms Kealey took up their positions on 21 September 2026, with terms ending on 20 September 2030.

Mr Boyd and Ms McEneaney commenced office on the same date in September 2026 for a similar duration.

The Trust provides psychological therapies, physiotherapy, coaching and development programmes to support retiring officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland or the Royal Ulster Constabulary.

Remuneration for the Chairperson is set at £10,000 per annum while Board Members receive £5,000 annually.

The PRRT Board structure consists of a Chairperson and six Board Members in total.

Of the six Board Members, one is nominated by the Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

Two positions are filled by nominees from the Police Federation for Northern Ireland subject to Departmental approval.

The new appointments reflect ongoing statutory requirements for Trust oversight and rehabilitation support.
