Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger submit joint bid for 2032 Afcon under Sahel alliance

Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger have submitted a joint bid to host the 2032 Africa Cup of Nations under the Alliance of Sahel States, following their departure from Ecowas and formation of a regional security and economic pact.

Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger have formally submitted a joint bid to host the 2032 Africa Cup of Nations. The proposal was made under the framework of the Alliance of Sahel States, a regional alliance formed after the three nations left Ecowas.

The Malian Football Federation described the bid as centred on solidarity, regional integration and sustainable development of African football. It stated the proposal would be developed in coordination with relevant national authorities.

Caf president Patrice Motsepe acknowledged the bid's submission and noted that security concerns would be assessed. He affirmed that the three nations would not be disadvantaged in the evaluation process.
