Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has confirmed the release of £1 million in capital resources for community transport organisations operating throughout the north.
The announcement coincides with the commencement of Community Transport Week 2026, which runs from 12 to 16 October.
According to the plan, the financial injection will facilitate the acquisition of thirteen new minibuses by individual providers.
Thirteen vehicles have been selected for replacement following an assessment that identified them as the highest priority based on age, mileage and current condition.
The capital allocation is intended to ensure these organisations can continue delivering essential services to residents who rely on them.
