Israeli strikes killed at least 39 people in Lebanon on 9 May 2026, the Lebanese health ministry reported. The strike on Saksakiyeh killed seven people, including a child, and injured 15 others.

The Israeli military said it targeted an armed Hezbollah group in southern Lebanon. It also identified an explosive drone launched by Hezbollah near the border as a threat.

Israel has occupied 10km of Lebanese territory since re-entering southern Lebanon in early March. The Lebanese health ministry reported 2,795 deaths in Lebanon since 2 March 2026.
