A record number of players from Mayo have been selected for the GAA-GPA's All-Star squad following their victory in last year's Sam Maguire Cup final.
The county finished a 75-year drought by lifting the trophy, and Ryan O'Donoghue was among those recognised for his pivotal contribution to that achievement.
Mayo secured eleven nominations across all categories, surpassing Kerry who received seven selections after finishing as runners-up in the championship competition.
In the Footballer of the Year category, three players were shortlisted: Mayo's Jack Carney and Ryan O'Donoghue alongside Kerry's David Clifford.
Carney earned his nomination after scoring six two-pointers during the Championship campaign and delivering a standout performance at Croke Park in July.
Clifford, who claimed the title last season, is now aiming to become a four-time winner while seeking his seventh All-Star honour at twenty-seven years old.
Goalkeeper Jack Livingstone from Mayo was included in the selection, joining Rory Beggan from Monaghan and Shane Murphy from Kerry on the list of keepers.
Defenders Sam Callinan, Jack Coyne and Enda Hession from Mayo were also nominated, with Sam Callinan being one of several players from the county recognised this year.
Beyond the senior squad, three young talents have been shortlisted for the Young Footballer of the Year award: Darragh Beirne and Kobe McDonald from Mayo, plus Dara McDonnell from Louth.
The distribution of nominations shows Dublin with five selections, while Westmeath holds four.
Monaghan, Armagh and Louth each received three nominations, whereas Roscommon, Cork, Galway and Tyrone were represented by two players each.
Donegal had a single nominee included in the overall shortlist.
This year's selection process highlights the depth of talent within Mayo following their historic campaign to end the long wait for an All-Ireland title.
