Mickey Harte has been confirmed as the new manager of Kilcoo for the upcoming 2027 season.

This appointment marks his return to the coaching fold after stepping down from his joint-manager position with Declan Kelly at Offaly in July, a role he had held since 2024.

Kilcoo, who secured the All-Ireland title in 2022, were eliminated by Burren in the semi-finals of the Down Senior Football Championship last year, ending their campaign for the first time since 2018.

Harte is widely recognised as one of the most successful figures in gaelic games history, having guided Tyrone to three All-Ireland victories in 2003, 2005 and 2008 during his eighteen-year tenure with the Red Hands.

He also claimed six Ulster titles while managing Tyrone before departing in 2020, subsequently taking charge of Louth and Derry at various points.

The decision to bring Harte back comes as Kilcoo look to rebuild their competitive edge following that semi-final defeat.

Reports from BBC Sport Northern Ireland confirm the official announcement of his role for the next campaign.

No further details regarding specific tactical changes or squad selections have been released at this stage.
