The A29 Cookstown Bypass has advanced with the confirmation of its Outline Business Case by the Northern Ireland Executive.

The proposed development involves roughly 4km of new carriageway running from the Loughry roundabout on Dungannon Road to a new junction near Moneymore Road.

Work will also include improvements to the Sandholes Link Road as part of the overall infrastructure package.

Officials state that reducing congestion is expected to create significant chances for improving Cookstown town centre.

The plan aims to encourage sustainable travel options through better road connectivity and urban design.

Media requests should be directed to the Department for Infrastructure Press Office.
