Drivers using the southbound A5 at Victoria Road in Leckpatrick are still being diverted during daytime hours, with the current traffic arrangements scheduled to remain in place until Friday 14 August for resurfacing work.
The Department for Infrastructure has scheduled the lane closure and diversion between 8am and 6pm. The arrangements began on 27 July and form part of a resurfacing scheme valued at £670,000 at Victoria Road, Ballymagorry.
Southbound traffic is being directed by a signed alternative route using the B48 Duncastle Road, the B49 Berryhill Road and the B49 Woodend Road. Motorists travelling through the area are being asked to follow the diversion in place.
The department has said local access is being accommodated while the works are carried out. Translink buses are also being accommodated under the traffic-management arrangements, although the Department for Infrastructure has warned that delays remain possible.
The closure applies to the southbound A5 direction during the stated daytime period. The works and associated diversion are scheduled to run through Friday, meaning road users could encounter the arrangements on the final day of the programme.
The resurfacing scheme is being delivered with live traffic management in operation. Road users should allow for the possibility of disruption when planning southbound journeys through Leckpatrick during the 8am-to-6pm working period.
