Friday is the final scheduled day of daytime traffic restrictions linked to the resurfacing of the A5 Victoria Road at Leckpatrick, Ballymagorry. The Department for Infrastructure has planned a southbound lane closure and a signed diversion between 08:00 and 18:00 on 14 August.
The restrictions form part of a £670,000 road scheme covering 1.1 kilometres of the A5. The work is being carried out on the Victoria Road section at Leckpatrick, in the Ballymagorry area, under the Department for Infrastructure programme.
Southbound vehicles affected by the closure are being directed along a signed route using the B48 Duncastle Road. The diversion then continues on the B49 Berryhill Road and the B49 Woodend Road before traffic returns to its intended route.
The daytime closure has been scheduled specifically for southbound A5 traffic. The published works arrangements set the closure period from 08:00 until 18:00, with Friday identified as the last day currently scheduled for those restrictions.
The Department for Infrastructure’s notice places both the lane closure and the diversion within the resurfacing programme for the 1.1-kilometre stretch. The scheme’s stated value is £670,000, and the planned arrangements apply at Leckpatrick, Ballymagorry.
Drivers travelling south on the A5 during the daytime closure period are to use the signed diversion rather than the closed lane. The route named in the works notice comprises Duncastle Road, Berryhill Road and Woodend Road.
The end of the scheduled diversion period is 18:00 on Friday. The traffic arrangements remain subject to the Department for Infrastructure’s works programme, with the published notice identifying Friday as the final scheduled day of the southbound daytime closure.
