A weekday daytime closure on the B112 route through Bessbrook remains scheduled through next week as a resurfacing programme on Main Street and Church Road approaches its planned completion date. The Department for Infrastructure has set the current arrangements to run until Friday 21 August.
The £525,000 scheme covers 1.4 kilometres of the B112, including Main Street and Church Road. The department’s programme provides for closures between 09:30 and 16:30 on weekdays while the resurfacing work is under way on that route.
The road is planned to remain open during the evenings and at weekends. That means the published closure arrangements apply during the stated weekday daytime period, rather than for every hour between the start of the scheme and its scheduled finishing date.
Friday 21 August is the planned final date for the weekday closures. The timetable issued by the Department for Infrastructure identifies the 09:30 to 16:30 period for the restrictions, with reopening planned once each weekday’s daytime works period has ended.
Main Street and Church Road together form the B112 section included in the programme. The department has described the work as a carriageway resurfacing scheme over 1.4 kilometres, with a stated value of £525,000 for the project.
Traffic arrangements are therefore scheduled to continue on weekdays during the coming week, subject to the published programme. Evening access and weekend opening remain part of the department’s stated plan while the resurfacing scheme continues.
