UEFA issued an ultimatum to FIFA president Gianni Infantino to resign or face an emergency no-confidence vote. The demand followed Infantino's proposal to sell stakes in FIFA Forward Enterprise to private investors.

The proposal was withdrawn after criticism from UEFA and Concacaf. Both bodies condemned the move as a failure to uphold football's governance principles.

UEFA described the withdrawal as a victory for football. Concacaf stated that unity among its 41 member associations reaffirmed football must remain in the hands of the game, not a single individual.
