The United Kingdom summoned Russia's ambassador, Andrey Kelin, following an overnight attack on Kyiv that severely damaged the British Council office. One employee sustained injuries and is in stable condition in hospital.

The Foreign Office stated that the attack involved nearly 600 drones and over 30 missiles, resulting in 17 deaths and destruction of a five-storey residential building. The British Council confirmed its office would remain closed to visitors until further notice.

The UK government condemned the assault, asserting that Russia's actions have undermined peace efforts and hardened Western determination to support Ukraine. The EU also plans to summon its Russian envoy in response to the attack on its Kyiv delegation.
