Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend their ceasefire for 45 days, according to the U.S. State Department. The extension follows two days of talks described as productive by the department.

More specific political negotiations are set to begin on 29 May, while security talks are scheduled for 2 June. These discussions aim to address issues related to sovereignty, territorial integrity, and border security.

Despite the ceasefire, both sides continue to exchange strikes. The Israeli military reported strikes on Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon after detecting hostile aircraft alerts. Lebanon's health ministry confirmed nearly 40 people were wounded in Israeli strikes near Tyre.
