US Centcom delegation arrives in Lebanon to implement ceasefire

A US Central Command delegation has arrived in Lebanon to support implementation of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, following a framework signed on 26 June. The visit precedes technical talks in Rome and confirms the agreement has entered its implementation phase.

A delegation from the United States Central Command arrived in Beirut on 10 July 2026 to assist in implementing a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah. The mission follows a framework agreement signed on 26 June 2026 by Lebanon and Israel.

The agreement includes Israel’s withdrawal from two pilot zones in southern Lebanon. These areas will be transferred to Lebanese military control after Israeli forces depart.

Technical teams from Lebanon and Israel are scheduled to meet in Rome next week to discuss operational details of the agreement. The first pilot zone is expected to begin its transition within days, according to US and Lebanese officials.
