Yellow rain warning issued for Northern Ireland, ending 10 January

A yellow weather warning for rain was in effect from 21:00 on 10 January until 21:00 on 11 January, later cancelled in the morning.

A yellow warning for rain was issued by the Met Office for Northern Ireland, effective from 21:00 on 10 January until 21:00 on 11 January. The alert was subsequently cancelled during the morning of 11 January.

The warning followed a period of cold weather, with temperatures reaching -7C at Katesbridge in County Down on Friday night. The coldest night of winter so far was recorded in the frost hollow of Katesbridge.

Ice pancakes were observed on the Edenderry River in County Tyrone on Saturday morning. Deer were seen moving across frozen ground in Gortin Glen Forest Park, County Tyrone, on the same day.
