Communities Minister Gordon Lyons met with armed forces veterans and their relatives on 26 and 27 September at the Ards Blair Mayne Wellbeing and Leisure Complex in Newtownards.
The gathering was part of the Community Sport Series, an initiative organised by Help for Heroes intended to promote health and wellbeing following active service.
Participants engaged in various inclusive sporting activities designed to accommodate different abilities.
During the visit, the minister first held discussions with veterans before taking part in a game of boccia.
Boccia is a Paralympic discipline originally created for athletes requiring high levels of support.
The event brought together service members and their families to share experiences through sport.
