Liz Kimmins has declared that the carriageway renewal on Tates Avenue will begin on Monday 21 September.
The Northern Ireland Executive confirmed the works cover a distance of roughly 880m between Lisburn Road and Boucher Road.
A separate initiative to resurface the A29 Desertmartin Road near Moneymore is also scheduled to start on that same day.
That second project involves approximately 450m of road surface treatment situated between Jungle NI premises and Glenquilly Road.
Kimmins stated the funding represents a priority for maintaining essential links for local commerce and households.
Road closures are planned over two weekends starting from Friday 2 October until Monday 5 October.
A further round of disruption is set for Saturday 17 October and Sunday 18 October.
During these periods, traffic will be rerouted via Lisburn Road, Stockmans Lane and Boucher Road to ensure connectivity remains intact.
Local access points for residents and commercial premises will be kept open where feasible throughout the duration.
Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time while the projects proceed and must follow all temporary traffic management rules.
A strict 40mph speed limit will apply in the affected zones with overtaking strictly forbidden during active works.
The Northern Ireland Executive published the operational details for both schemes on its official channels recently.
Residents and commuters in the vicinity are encouraged to plan ahead due to anticipated delays caused by the roadworks.
