Firefighters are continuing their efforts to extinguish a massive blaze involving thousands of tonnes of scrap cars at Belfast Harbour as late Wednesday night approached.
Smoke from the fire on Queen's Island was visible across Belfast Lough and could be seen rising above Belfast City Airport.
This operation marks the second large-scale fire concerning scrap metal at the harbour to occur within the current year.
The initial emergency call regarding the incident on East Twin Road was received by services at 12.14pm.
A substantial response was deployed, requiring sixty firefighters and nine appliances to tackle the blaze.
Crews working at the scene included personnel from the fire service alongside Belfast Harbour fire tugs and an air unit.
It is expected that emergency crews will remain at the location overnight to monitor the deep-set fire and prevent any possible reignitions.
