Australia won women’s artistic gymnastics team gold at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday, with Georgia Godwin part of the side that finished first in Glasgow.
Commonwealth Sport recorded Australia’s total as 158.400 points. The team was made up of Godwin, Emily Whitehead, Ruby Pass, Breanna Scott and Kate McDonald, and the result gave Australia its first Commonwealth women’s team title in the event since Delhi 2010.
The gold also carried personal significance for Godwin. Commonwealth Sport said she had suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in May 2024, an injury which kept her out of the Olympic Games in Paris and put her career in jeopardy.
Saturday’s competition was described as her first major international event since that injury. By contributing to the team victory, Godwin added another medal to her Commonwealth Games record and moved past Allana Slater as Australia’s most decorated women’s gymnast at the Games, according to the governing body.
Canada took silver with 157.300 points. Commonwealth Sport also reported that Canada’s Elsabeth Black led the all-around qualification, ahead of Australia’s Ruby Pass, as the wider artistic gymnastics competition continued.
For Australia, the team gold combined an overall title with a notable return for Godwin. The official result confirmed the team score and the make-up of the winning squad on the second day of Glasgow 2026.
