Glentoran Women began the defence of their Women's Premiership title with a commanding 6-0 victory against Crusaders Strikers at the Blanchflower Stadium.
Joely Andrews opened the scoring midway through the first half after being supplied by Emily Wilson. Demi Vance added a second five minutes later, before Aimee Neal headed in her first goal for Glentoran to give the champions a three-goal advantage before the interval.
Kerry Beattie converted a penalty early in the second half to place the result beyond realistic doubt. Substitute Rachel Rogan then scored twice late in the match, completing a productive opening afternoon for a Glentoran side seeking to retain the championship won the previous October.
The first round of fixtures also produced wins for Cliftonville Ladies, Lisburn Rangers and Lisburn Ladies. Cliftonville scored five away to Mid Ulster Ladies, while newly promoted Lisburn Rangers opened their top-flight campaign with a narrow victory over Derry City Women at the Brandywell.
Lisburn Ladies also recovered from falling behind at Inver Park to defeat Larne Women. Those results gave the opening table an early shape, but Glentoran's six unanswered goals provided the clearest statement from the first weekend.
For Vance and her team-mates, the performance combined patience in the opening stages with a strong finish. The champions leave the first round with three points, a clean sheet and immediate evidence that the standards of their title season remain in place.
