Glentoran Women have reclaimed the Women's Premiership title after a 3-0 victory over Crusaders Strikers at Seaview settled the championship race.
Demi Vance struck twice and Emily Wilson added the other goal as the east Belfast side completed the result required to move beyond the reach of their remaining challengers. Cliftonville Ladies recorded a comfortable win over Sion Swifts Ladies on the same afternoon, but Glentoran's success meant the destination of the trophy was no longer in doubt.
The contest was competitive before the interval, with Crusaders goalkeeper Maddy Harvey-Clifford and the home defence resisting sustained Glentoran pressure. Crusaders also threatened through Amy McGivern, whose header struck the post during a first half in which both teams had opportunities to make the breakthrough.
Glentoran took control after the restart. Vance found the opening goal, Wilson doubled the advantage and Vance completed the scoring late in the game. The margin reflected the champions' growing authority as the second half developed, even though Crusaders had made them work for the decisive opening.
The championship is Glentoran's third in four seasons and returns the league crown to the club after their previous success in 2021. Their consistency across the campaign ultimately carried them through a sustained challenge from Cliftonville, who remained in contention until the closing stage of the season.
For Glentoran, the afternoon at Seaview brought both the points and the confirmation they had been pursuing. Attention can now turn to completing the campaign, but the central prize has already been secured.
