A £750,000 resurfacing programme has begun on the B4 through Ederney, bringing weekday closures and a diversion through Irvinestown and Dromore. The work covers Market Street, Leatham Crescent and Edenamohill Road between Main Street and the Colaghty Road junction.
Around three kilometres of carriageway will be renewed, with minor drainage improvements included in the programme. The Department for Infrastructure expects the project to be substantially complete by August 28, although the finishing date may move if weather interrupts the schedule.
The affected roads are closed to through traffic from 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday. They reopen each evening and remain available overnight until the following morning. Access is being maintained for residents and businesses within the closed section.
The signed diversion runs from Ederney through Church Street, Letterboy Road and Manoo Road towards Irvinestown, before using the A35 and A32 through Dromore and returning by the B84 at the Minnie Burns junction. The same route operates in reverse for traffic approaching from the opposite direction.
Drivers have been advised to build extra time into journeys while the closure is active. Temporary signs remain the immediate guide for road users because working areas and local access arrangements can alter as resurfacing progresses.
