Lewis Hamilton finished fourth in the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, gaining two places from his starting position in the final classification.
Formula 1’s official result for 19 July places Hamilton immediately behind the podium finishers. He had qualified sixth before moving up to fourth by the end of the race.
Kimi Antonelli won the grand prix, with Charles Leclerc second and Max Verstappen third. Hamilton was the next driver in the order, leaving him just outside the top three at the Belgian venue.
The result gave Hamilton a two-place improvement from qualifying to race classification. His movement from sixth to fourth is the key change in his weekend position recorded in the official result.
Antonelli’s victory set the lead result at Spa-Francorchamps, while Leclerc and Verstappen completed the podium ahead of Hamilton. The final order at the front was therefore Antonelli, Leclerc, Verstappen and Hamilton.
Hamilton’s fourth place came in a race where the leading three positions were taken by Antonelli, Leclerc and Verstappen. The classification records his starting place, finishing place and the drivers ahead of him, establishing a race in which he advanced from the third row to finish one position short of the podium.
