A £854,000 resurfacing scheme has been announced for the B99 Waterfall Road and Watchill Road in Larne, with work due to start on Monday 3 August 2026.
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said the scheme covers about 2.97km, running from the Ballyrickard Road and Waterfall Road junction to the New Line junction. The Department for Infrastructure said the works are expected to last five weeks.
A continuous road closure will be required from Monday 3 August until Friday 11 September 2026 to allow the scheme to be delivered safely. The Department said the work is subject to favourable weather conditions and is expected to be substantially complete by 11 September.
A signed diversion will operate via the A8 Belfast Road, B59 Doagh Road and B90 Old Carrick and Upper Road, with the same route in reverse for opposing traffic.
The Department said its work programme and traffic management arrangements had been planned to minimise inconvenience. Local access is to be accommodated throughout the scheme where possible.
Road users have been advised to expect some delays, allow extra time when travelling near the works and comply with temporary traffic restrictions. The Department said it would keep the public informed of any change to the programme.
